I’m so excited to announce that this print will be up on the site for our limited release launch. For this product, I got to collaborate with one of my best friends, Annie Hawkins. Check out Annie’s story behind the print below!
This print was inspired by my dad who passed away from cancer. There’s an ancient Japanese legend that says whoever folds 1,000 origami cranes will be granted a wish or a prayer. Before my dad passed away he was given 1,000 origami cranes that were folded by people that cared about him. As each crane was folded, each person had said a prayer for my dad’s recovery. After they had folded 1,000, they assembled them into an incredible piece of art that now hangs in my mom’s house and means so much to us.
Every time I look at it, and every time I think about my dad, I remember something I believe in. I believe that love keeps everything alive. For me, it keeps my dad’s influence and love alive in my life.
For you, love might be the encouragement you need when you feel defeated, or your unconditional love may be the fuel that helps someone else persevere.
The beauty about creating, and risking in creating, is that every piece of art is open to interpretation. It can take a unique meaning in each person’s life. So, what does “love keeps everything alive” mean to you?
